What is Multimedia Messaging? With Multimedia Messaging (sometimes referred to as MMS), you can send pictures, video, and voice messages to another phone or e-mail address. You can even personalize the message with text or a voice recording.
Do I need Multimedia Messaging for my camera or video phone to work? Multimedia Messaging is the service that lets you share your pictures and video messages with other wireless phones or e-mail addresses. Without Multimedia Messaging, you will only be able to take pictures and video and store them on your phone.
Why would I use Multimedia Messaging? Have you ever been caught in a situation where you wished you had brought your camera? Multimedia Messaging allows you to snap a picture and send it within minutes to whomever you choose.
Best of all, it's easy to use. Just snap a photo using your phone's embedded camera or a camera attachment, and send it to a wireless number or e-mail address.
For further specifics on multimedia messaging with your phone, check your user manual.
Who can I send multimedia messages to? You can exchange multimedia messages with almost any wireless phone, like the AT&T Motorola Razr V3, including Cingular Wireless/AT&T , Verizon Wireless, and T-Mobile customers, by addressing the message to the recipient's 10-digit wireless phone number.
You can also exchange messages with any e-mail address by addressing the message to the recipient's e-mail address. You can also receive multimedia messages on your phone from an e-mail account addressed to your "10-digit wireless number@mms.mycingular.com."
Multimedia messages sent to non-multimedia capable phones will be delivered as text messages, which include a link to an internet address where the message can be viewed online (this experience varies by wireless provider).
What is the cost for Multimedia Messaging? AT&T charges on a per-message basis with no additional airtime charges. Several pricing options are available. You can either pay per each multimedia message, or you can purchase a package of messages at a lower per-message charge. If you plan to send or receive more than 12 multimedia messages per month, the package is a better option. No matter which pricing option you choose, you can send a single message to as many as 10 people for the cost of one message.
How do I add Multimedia Messaging to my account? There are a number of ways you can subscribe. To learn about each of the Multimedia Messaging packages and sign up, please call 1-888-410-4479.
Existing customers can also log in to My Account and go to My Features. If Multimedia Messaging is available for your account, it can be added here. New customers can add this feature as a part of ordering a phone online. You can also call Customer Care at 1-888-410-4479.
Does AT&T charge for Multimedia Messaging airtime like some of the other competitors do? No, we believe you should know how much a message costs before it is sent. Transport charges can vary based on the message, so if you paid for Multimedia Messaging airtime, you would not know how much a message cost until you were billed for it.
With AT&T's Multimedia Messaging service, you know what the final cost of the message is before you send it based on the plan to which you subscribe.
Do I need other services with Multimedia Messaging? Yes, you must also subscribe to MEdia Net and Text Messaging.
Why do I need to subscribe to MEdia Net? Consider MEdia Net as the highway down which the Multimedia Messaging travels. MEdia Net bills separately from Multimedia Messaging. You can either subscribe to a MEdia Net package or pay per use. If you subscribe to the pay-per-use plan and don't ever use MEdia Net outside of Multimedia Messaging, you will never be charged. Learn more about MEdia Net packages by calling 1-888-410-4479.
Why do I need Text Messaging? When a multimedia message is sent to you, you'll first receive a text message to see if you want to download the multimedia message. You will not be billed for the text message.
You can either subscribe to a package of text messages or you can pay per use. Learn more about Text Messaging packages by calling 1-888-410-4479.
Where can I send a multimedia message? You can send your multimedia messages to a 10-digit wireless number or e-mail address. Although multimedia messages are best sent to other AT&T customers with Multimedia Messaging, they can also be sent to other text messaging-capable phones.
If you send a message to another phone that does not have AT&T Multimedia Messaging, your recipient will receive a text message with an Internet address for viewing your message online. Some wireless providers may choose not to deliver these text messaging notifications to their customers.
AT&T Wireless and Cingular customers can now share messages directly with each other that include text, photos, animated graphics, voice messages, music, and video clips, using the Multimedia or Picture Messaging feature.
What if I don't know the e-mail address or wireless number of the person to whom I want to send a message? Simply save the photo in your camera until you have the information needed to send a message.
How long does it take to send a message? On average, it takes about 25 to 30 seconds to send a multimedia message.
Why won't my video message go through? Some video phones record up to 10 minutes of video. However, you will only be able to send short video clips through the AT&T network, roughly 300 KB or 30 seconds. To ensure that your video can be sent with Multimedia Messaging, go into the settings within the video recorder option on your handset and change the setting to the shortest option.
How can I send a multimedia message to a handset from my e-mail? Simply send it to your friend's multimedia messaging e-mail address. For AT&T subscribers, this address is theirnumber@mms.mycingular.com. Your friends will receive the picture and the attachments on their handsets if they subscribe to Multimedia Messaging.
What else can I do with my multimedia-capable phone? In addition to sending and receiving pictures and video from your multimedia-capable phone, you can: Record a voice message and send it to an entire group at once. The recipients will receive a message in their inbox, with your recorded message. It's the perfect way to say you're running late! Receive alerts with weather forecasts, news headlines, stock reports, and more. You can even send an animated birthday card to someone special. Check out the new AT&T Motorola Razr V3!
I received a video message—How can I view it? If you do not have a video-capable phone, you'll receive a text message explaining how to view your video message. You'll first need to log in to www.viewmymessage.com (a login and password will be provided). You will also need to download and install Quicktime Player to watch your video message.

I bookmarked a wireless Web site and it doesn't work on my wireless device. My friends can visit this site using other wireless providers' phones. Why won't it work on my device? Not all Web sites that claim to be compatible with wireless devices were actually written per the standard. Many are written with similar protocols or with minor errors that cause them to not function properly over the AT&T network. If you encounter a problem accessing a Web site that claims to be compatible, you should notify the Web site administrator.
